Salvation

"For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding."

—Proverbs 2:6 (kjv)

What is Salvation?

Salvation is mediated through Jesus’ name

In Acts 2:21 and 4:12, salvation is described as being mediated through the name of Jesus.

Salvation involves baptism

In Acts 2:37-38, Peter says that people should repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ so that their sins can be forgiven and they can receive the Holy Spirit.

Salvation involves repentance

To be saved, people must repent and believe in who Jesus is and what he has done for them.

Salvation involves receiving the Holy Spirit

In the stories of salvation in Acts, people were baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit, and they spoke in tongues as they received the Holy Spirit.

Salvation involves performing deeds

People should repent, turn to God, and perform deeds in keeping with their repentance.

The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Jesus Christ.

Why do I need Salvation?

According to the Bible, people need salvation because of sin, which is rebellion against God:

  • Sin dishonors God: Sin is harmful to others, damages people, and dishonors God.
  • Sin is punishable: God is holy and just, so he cannot allow sin to go unpunished.
  • Sin leads to death and eternal separation from God: The Bible says that the punishment for sin is death and eternal separation from God.
  • People are incapable of saving themselves: God is the only one who can provide salvation.
  • Salvation is essential for a relationship with God: Salvation is necessary to have a relationship with God on earth and to achieve a place in heaven.
  • God’s plan is to conform people to the image of his son: God wants to cultivate relationships with beings made in his image and have them love him and thrive.
  • God sent his son as a savior: God sent his only begotten son as a savior to fit people for eternity and showcase his glory.

Are You Ready for A Relationship Not A Religion?

So many people think that having a relationship with GOD is somehow about joining a religion or a particular church. The truth is that it’s all about a relationship. It’s about giving your heart and your life to JESUS CHRIST, the one who willingly died for your sin and the sins of the whole world so that we don’t have to spend eternity separated from GOD.

The Bible says…

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of The Glory of GOD.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of GOD is eternal life in CHRIST JESUS our LORD.”

Romans 5:8 “But GOD demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, CHRIST died for us.”

Romans 10:9 “If you declare with your mouth, JESUS is LORD and believe in your heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:10 “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of The LORD shall be saved.”

Maybe you’ve felt you’re not worthy of salvation because of the things you’ve done in your past. Perhaps you’ve thought that good work or being a “good” person will save you. Maybe you thought you were saved simply because you were baptized or prayed a prayer, all without experiencing a real change of heart.

The good news is that JESUS is calling you right now to trust and believe in HIM, to trust that HE has done all the work, HE has paid the price for your sin in full, so you don’t have to. JESUS’ death, burial and resurrection means that our sins are forgiven, all we must do is believe in JESUS CHRIST and receive HIS free gift of salvation so that we can live the abundant life with GOD both here on earth and for all of eternity.

It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, where you’ve been, you are never too far from the Love of GOD. GOD is willing right now to save you, to forgive you of your sins and put you in a right relationship with HIM. That is the limitless Love of GOD. If you are ready to receive GOD’s free gift of salvation all you have to do is pray this simple prayer.

“HEAVENLY FATHER, I come to you in the name of JESUS. I acknowledge to YOU that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; and I recognize that I need YOUR forgiveness.

the Sinner’s Prayer

I believe that YOU are the only begotten SON OF GOD, and that YOU shed YOUR PRECIOUS BLOOD on the cross of Calvary and died for my sins, were resurrected on the third day, and are seated at the right hand of GOD. I repent of my sins, and I turn to YOU.

YOU said in YOUR Word that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our hearts that JESUS raised himself from the dead, we shall be saved.

I ask YOU FATHER to forgive me of all my sins and ask You to fill me with The HOLY SPIRIT. This very moment I accept JESUS CHRIST as my own personal LORD and SAVIOR and according to YOUR Word, right now I am saved. LORD have full control of my life and help me to serve YOU and glorify YOUR HOLY NAME and praise YOU forever. Amen.”
